Been watching the Labyrinth, because I just happened to find it for sale at a local grocery store. Love that movie. lol. David Bowie looks crazy in it.

So, I’ve been working lately on my portfolio site, which really sucks because I just don’t have the motivation to make it spectacular right now. I’m sleepy, like all the time. Probably because of all the working I’ve been doing lately. I have 38 hours this week, and usually I only have between 16—20ish.
— I started reading a book my sister bought awhile ago, “I slept with Joey Ramone” I totally suggest reading it, if you like punk rock and the Ramones. It’s really interesting. ♥

I think I’ll start working on my Javascript book some more, I feel like it needs some love.

..” to be photoshopp’ed” lol. I made the mistake of putting all my vector portraits on facebook, and now all my friends are asking me to make one of them. MY HAND IS KILLING ME! lol. I could probably make more money doing this, than my job if I charged for it. lol. Ahh, that’d be nice. But oh well. Speaking of getting paid, I finally got a raise! Pretty exciting considering the last year, corporate has been telling us wages are on hold. I thought it was complete BS that I’d been working there for almost 5 years, and I was still making minimum wage— super ridiculous considering I do a SHIT load of work around there, doing all different shifts and things. I basically told them, give me a raise or I quit— and viola— a raise. They’d be screwed without me, otherwise they probably would’ve said adios to me.
I think I may hold a referral type of contest, and give away a domain layout— to whomever can get the most visitors to come to http://lovelyglitters.com—It really needs some good advertising. Would anyone be interested in joining a contest like that? The domain layout would come with images, fully coded index, and a css page, plus I’d probably offer some kind of advertising spot on this site, or LG.

I better check my mail, and start on those signature requests that I got.—Adios amigos.

Lions, Tigers and Vectors -- OH MY!

I’ve become obsessed! haha. I just can’t stop making them. I think I’m finally starting to get the hang of it.

I’m offering them on my other site: http://lovelyglitters.com In case anyone was interested in using them in the future. I’m debating about taking custom orders for a small fee. Maybe $5—$10 depending on how difficult the picture is. But that’d be in the future if I can get my skill up, and hopefully before I lose interest in making them.
I have a folder full of pictures I’d like to try and use for vectors— and I’d like to make some of myself. I’ve done one for a friend already, but it didn’t come out as well as I would’ve liked, so I think I’ll do it over on my days off.

What do you guys think? Have any suggestions on good pictures to use? I’m looking for one of a girl wearing an interesting and/or pretty dress. Maybe with polka dots? haha. If you find one, let me know!

Playing Around..

About time for a new blog post, I say. So, since the last time I’ve posted I went to my first concert! Billy Idol ( ahh, yes.. he’s pretty) I’ll post pictures later… I should be going to bed soon. :-X
EDIT:// Here’s the pictures… It’s hard to see anything, because we were so far out in the crowd. It was PACKED there.

I bought myself a $40 T-Shirt that’s pretty snazzy while I was there too. Had to have some kind of reminder of the whole experience seeing as how it was my very first concert.

I’ve been playing around with my new Photoshop program (CS3) I got it from a friend— I have no clue how to use it. haha.. I’m so used to my PSP program, that I’m totally lost at PS. I read some tutorials, and have been *trying* to figure out how to make vector portraits, and let’s just say I flat out suck at it. !! Here’s an example of the second one I tried to do ( the first was disgusting, lol) It’s scary, I know. Tomorrow, either before work or after I’ll probably sit down for awhile and try to get things going in the right
direction. I pretty much have in my head what I should do, but when I attempt to do it in the program it ends up coming out funky. REAL funky. Thank goodness for my drawing tablet though— it’d be ridiculously hard without it.

I better get to bed~ Tonight is the last night of my vacation, so tomorrow I’m back to work (luckily it’s at 1:30pm, so I get to sleep in. Thank God. I hate working the 5am shift. I’m NOT a morning person.

Although, the graphics are .png so they look the best in firefox. IE is the devil and doesn’t like to match the colors well. Hate that. I wish everyone would switch over to firefox… it’s safer for your computer anyways.

August 3^rd came and left, and I’m recovering just fine. (And to those who are asking what I had surgery for— I had gallstones, so they took out my gallbladder.)
I met some cute male nurses in the process. hehe. But waking up from the anesthesia was rough, I just couldn’t get myself to wake up— and when I did I had nausea really bad. But, eventually it passed enough to get me to the car and home.
Everyone keeps asking me how I’m feeling, and honestly the pain isn’t that bad. It feels like I’ve done a million sit ups. The pain pills help a lot.
My aunts, and mom got me some cute flowers and a sock elephant. Here’s a couple pictures of them:

Oh, about that co-worker I mention in my last post— I bought him a small bag of candy from the candy bar isle at work, just to get him off my back and he threw a giant fit! It was unbelievable. So, I just gave him a little “Fuck You” look, and moved on. If he wants to be a greedy little brat, then it’s his problem—not mine.

Since I’ve been a little laid up after my surgery— I’ve been browsing other sites. What are your favorite sites to visit?

August 3^rd! At early o’ clock in the morning, is when my surgery is scheduled. Shit. haha. They are making me do it so soon! I was hoping for a few weeks to get my self mentally prepared. The whole idea of being unconscious while someone messes with my insides is just a little nerve racking. But, oh well. I guess this means I wont have time to worry myself crazy.
I tell ya what, I’m SO sick of seeing doctors! I’ve had enough visits to last a lifetime. Hopefully after this surgery is over I can avoid doctor offices like the plague.

In other news— A “friend” of mine from work’s birthday was July 27^th, and he was been NAGGING me like crazy to get him a birthday present. At first I kind of wanted to get him something, but I also had to take into account that I’m pretty broke between the doctor shit, and my financial aid being suspended (plus I don’t work full time, and I only make minimum wage.) So getting him a gift is a bit of a hassle right now.. and he’s one of those people who expect you to spend big money on them, and if you don’t they get upset. Personally, I feel like that’s bullshit! You should never be that greedy! If it were me, I’d just be happy with the person acknowledging it was my birthday by sending me a text, or giving me a hug— ya know, simple, no cost things— so it really irritates me that I’m getting guilt tripped into buying him a not-so-cheap birthday present. I need to grow some balls and just get a card, and make him deal with it. It’s really not fair for him to expect so much from me, especially when we’re NOT that close of friends! I’ve only hung out with him outside of work a couple times, and we didn’t even do anything that was friendship “building” sort of interaction. We watched a movie, and barely chatted at all. In all honesty, I don’t really even want to be friends with him.

Do you have a friend in your life that acts like he does? Maybe someone you’d rather just break it off with and move on? How would you deal with it? A few ideas might help my situation.~~

Ah, yes. It’s true.. The pink is here.

If you read my last blog post, you know that I was going to multiple doctor’s appointments to find out if I had gallstones, and unfortunately I do. It’s rather a downer considering how I got them. Apparently, when you drastically change your diet to all healthy foods (veggies, fruits etc ) your gallbladder doesn’t have any use for the chemical called “bile” that breaks down the fats in what you eat—so it forms into actual stone looking rocks. Hence “gallstone.” And since I do have them, that means I must have a surgery. Or at least they highly suggest having one, before it reaches a dangerous level ( where I might end up having an emergency surgery ) I’d rather be able to prepare for the surgery, so I’ve scheduled another gahdayum doctor’s appointment to talk with a specialist on July 27^th. So, most likely sometime next month I’ll be having a surgery— Should only be a one day thing, in- and out— Only missing a week from work for recovery. It’s not too invasive.

On another note, my toe is healing up great. The bone is almost back to normal. (My toenail died and fell off though, which is rather disgusting.)

I’ve been watching videos lately on eye shadow techniques.. They’re pretty entertaining if you’re into the make up stuff. Here’s a pretty cool one I found. Check it outttt!

Pink Hair Tomorrow? Heck yes..

Tomorrow.. .is… Pay Day woot. And, I will be dying my hair— PINK. Excellent, I know. I worked three days this week, and my poor broken toe is feeling sore. Hopefully the doctor will release me to start normal work again though, because we’ve hired two new people at work and I usually do the training. It’s actually kind of surprising how long it takes for a toe to heal. I know I did quite a job at breaking it— into three pieces— but it’s been almost a month ( I think?) Maybe over.. I can’t really remember. But a long gawdayum time and I’m tired of being forced to sit on a stool all day. haha.
This week is going to be so busy, my gosh. Monday (today) I worked from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00. Started learning how to decorate cakes, so that was fun. Tomorrow I’m going to get my hair colored, and run some errands. Wednesday I have a doctors appointment, because I guess I might have gallstones. I had no clue what that was, until I google image searched it, and O. M. G. it’s so gross. I hope that’s not what I have. Apparently your gallbladder can actually build up what’s called “bile” w/e and it forms a solid chunk that looks literally like a little pebble, or stone. Hence the name. The only way to fix it, would be a surgery— I really don’t want to have surgery! :-X Continuing -> on Thursday I have another doctor’s appointment for the ultrasound of my stomach, and then working at Noble Estate Vineyard after that doing website stuff as well as getting a flyer set up. Then Friday I have ANOTHER FLIPPIN’ doctor’s appointment about my broken toe. Sheesh. I am so sick of doctors! Seriously. It’s quite ridiculous if you ask me.

This site has gotten a huge update, in case no one noticed; I added all the tutorials that were missing back into the Visitor Section finally. I totally forgot that I hadn’t put them back up. But other than that, I’ve just been working on my coding site http://codemeplz.com I had a few inquiries about buying it, but I also had some people tell me they didn’t want me to sell it. Idunno why, since I never really added anything but a layout to it.

In a much needed effort to make some extra money ( which I’ll explain why later) I will be shamelessly selling myself to you all. Or rather, selling my services. What I’ll be doing is taking custom layout orders, and custom glitter/myspace type of graphics orders. Now, just so you know why I really need some extra money— I got a letter in the mail saying the government is taking back my financial aid from Spring term ( I got pretty sick and missed a lot of school ) so they don’t want to pay for it. Which leaves me paying a huge bill that I didn’t expect. In order to sign up for classes again next fall I have to have the entire bill paid off. In the end, I’ll love you for life if you order something, or if anyone is super nice and wants to make a donation. It’ll be going to a good cause.

My laptop has returned from the grave..

So, you can guess from the title why I haven’t been online much in quite awhile. It decided to turn into a giant paper wait a few weeks ago and I tried all kinds of shit before I finally reinstalled Windows with the help of my lovely friend, Justin. Now, my laptop is pretty much back in business— unfortunately there were a few things that I forgot to save before everything got deleted. So, I probably wont be able to make any of the signature requests anytime soon. I have to reinstall all of my programs and I had to buy Artistic Effects, because I forgot to save the files on my memory stick. UGH!
One nifty thing about reinstalling PaintShop Pro though! I never realized the disc came with a free trial to Corel Painter Essentials, so I’ve been messing around with that program a bit. Here’s a painting I made with it. Mostly it’s just a doodle ( I have never used this program before, so I really have no clue how to make anything snazzy yet.) I’ll probably browse around for some tutorials eventually.

First day of boring..

As you may, or may not know.. I broke my toe yesterday and I can’t walk— which means I can’t go to work either. I’ve spent all of today just lounging around the house with my foot up to keep the swelling down, and napping ( The pain medication makes me really sleepy.) I’m already getting stir crazy. I hate not being able to just get up and walk around when I want. I keep trying, but it’s still pretty painful to walk on my foot. It seems like all the Vicodin does is make me want to sleep. lol
In the presence of all this free time I’ve been messing around with PaintShop, making all the signature requests that have arrived in my mailbox, as well as those on a thread I made on a forum.

I’ve joined a few topsites, and directories. I’d love you forever if you click on the vote buttons to vote for my site. They’re located at the bottom of my sidebar.

There’s a couple of them. ;)

I’ll probably make some new backgrounds or something tomorrow, since I haven’t done any of those in a long time. Anyone have any suggestions on what I should make?

Broken Toe? Yes.

If any of this is confusing, I apologize.. I’m on vicodin. lol I was at work today, being a good kid.. When I dropped one of our industrial size saran wrap rolls, that weigh around 50 pounds on my foot. Hurt like a son of a B!*&@. So I had to fill out some worker’s compensation paperwork, because my toe instantly started turning purple and blue and got super swollen. Ew. Driving home was awkward, since I smashed my right foot I couldn’t really use it to push the gas pedal so I had to cross my legs and use my left foot to work the pedals. :-X
After I got home, and limped around a bit I finally decided there was no way I was going to be able to go into work tomorrow like this. I could hardly walk, and with my job you’re constantly on your feet— so I had my dad drive me to the clinic and they x-ray’d my foot. It was kind of interesting, I’ve never seen an x-ray picture in person before even though I’ve had x-rays done a million times before. lol.. They pointed out where my big toe was broken into three pieces, but luckily they didn’t spread out (there’s a technical term for that, which I don’t want to figure out) so it will most likely heal nicely.
My boss pretty much hates me now, but hey.. I can’t help that I’m a klutz! Funny thing is, if she’d changed the wrap herself like she was supposed to do, instead of being a lazy ho and putting it off, I wouldn’t have had to do it myself and get hurt.
Gotta love worker’s comp though, they’re paying for the doctor bills.

I’ve found that hopping around on my left foot is a million times easier than trying to walk on my right foot. I wonder if I’ll end up with a badass strong calf muscle on my left leg, and a whimpy muscle on my right by the time my toe heals. haha. Did I mention this is my first broken bone too? I was hoping it’d be a bit cooler than this.. When people ask how I hurt my foot, and I tell them I dropped a roll of saran wrap on it, they think I’m a psycho or a whimp. lol. Most people don’t know about the giant 50 pound rolls that grocery stores have in the deli departments and such.

I imagine I’ll have plenty of time to do random updates while I’m off work.. So I suggest dropping over to my Signature Request pages, since I’ll probably have loads of time to make customs.

Tight Pants Ban, say what?

If you read my last post, then you might remember that when I’m bored out of my mind I go to http://yahoo.com and check out what the “most searched” topics are for the day. Apparently the don’t ask, don’t tell policy is still number one, but what caught my attention today was the second most searched topic: Tight Pants Ban. Now, I didn’t know there could be a such thing, but I wish we could have a “baggy pants ban” here in the United States. The number one rule being, if you have to walk like an idiot just to keep your pants from falling down around your ankles, then you need a bloody belt, pal.

So, back to the real issue. Over in Indonesia, an Islamic district to be somewhat precise, they are instigating raids on women who do not fit into the new dress code. (Long skirts, no jeans or tight dresses) I don’t know much about the whole scene, but to each their own I guess. I’d probably be thrown into jail if I ventured over there with my all jeans, no skirt wardrobe. Here’s a quote from the article:

During raids Thursday, Islamic police caught 18 women traveling on motorbikes who were wearing traditional headscarves but were also dressed in jeans. Each woman was given a long skirt and her pants were confiscated. They were released from police custody after giving their identities and receiving advice from Islamic preachers.

What’s your take on this new policy in Indonesia? Would you be able to give up your jeans and conform? I’m not big on people telling me what to do, let alone how I’m allowed to dress. I guess that’s just the stubborn side of me coming out. Apparently women caught breaking the ban more than three times could face two weeks in detention.

Don't Ask, Don't Tell..

On occasion, like when I’m super bored out of my mind, I like to drift my web browser on over to http://yahoo.com and see what the Most searched topics are for the day. It’s a bit random, I know. But I get a kick out of it. Today, the most searched topic was “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and being pretty politically illiterate, I had no clue what that was, so I got curious and clicked on it. Turns out it concerns a military policy concerning gays and while Obama was giving a speech, a gay right’s activist interrupted/”heckled him”, and Obama answered back. So far, sounds kind of boring.. But I kept reading on, and had to snicker a little at this paragraph:

Obama told Williams to “read the newspapers.” “He said do it faster,” the president said. “It’s like, come on, man, I’m dealing with Congress here. It takes a little bit of time.”

It’s like, come onnnn, man. I’m dealing with Congress here. ( That just makes me giggle a bit. Childish, I know.) I just like to picture the President saying “It’s like.” Perhaps with a preppy teenager accent. (Emphasis on the onnnnn to make it perfect.)

In other lame news, I’ve read an article on the worst “health” drinks. Apparently people are thinking these drinks are good for them, I mean why not? It’s called “Antioxidant water” and “Green Tea” but, the labels are a bit scary. The one that stuck out the most was this SoBe drink:

Brand Spankin' New Layout

Heyyyy Guys! Check it out!—New layout up! I was sick and tired of the old one. Ugh. Plus, this site was in dire need of a revamp… So I’ve fixed up the pages, cleaned up the coding a bit and took out some pages that were just lying around gathering dust. You may (or may not) notice that all the tutorials in the Visitor Section are gone. I’ll be placing them on my new site, so venture over there to find the tutorials if you need them.

Hey guys, how’s it going? Hope all is well with everyone. Summer is coming!!! I’m excited, especially since school has been so awful for me lately. I fell wayyy behind because I got a really bad sinus infection, plus my boss kept scheduling me for extra days after one of my co-workers walked out and quit on us ( which I high-fived her for, because I want to do the same thing) My job is full of Nazi’s and hypocrites. Anyways, after the extra work and being sick got me pretty far behind on my homework I sort of gave up. I’ll probably have to take these three classes again after I get my life sorted out. I tried moving away from my parents house, but that’s been a huge disaster. I’m soo broke, and I’ve been in and out of both the new house and my parents house that I pretty much feel like I live in limbo land. THEN, my computer broke, so I couldn’t do anything with my sites, or the Noble Estate Winery site that I’ve been working on for my aunt and uncle that own the vineyard. ( http://nobleestatevineyard.com ) And of course my homework was a bit harder to work on when I didn’t have all the necessary files for them, because they were stuck on my dead laptop. Talk about a disastrous few weeks. But, hopefully things are going to start turning around. I fixed my laptop (or at least I think I did..) I’m in the process of moving back into my parents house so that I don’t have to pay rent or other bills besides my car payment. And I’m going to purchase a book on Javascript so I can be more self taught before I retake that class. Let me tell you, if you ever take a class on Javascript, make sure they are NOT using this one: New Perspectives on Javascript and AJAX by Patrick Carey and Frank Canovatchel. It is the absolute WORST BOOK ever written, and it’s supposed to be teaching complete beginners. It’s ridiculous. There are typos in the example coding! How are beginners supposed to learn coding, when the author has errors in his coding?!?!? SRSLY people, I’ll come slap you in the face myself if you continue to write textbooks like this! It has so much stupid storytelling that you have to read 4 pages of bullshit just to get 2 pages of real content. It makes me furious. So, in conclusion to my little rant, here’s to a second try teaching myself with a GOOD book. Wish me luck! lol

I felt like trying to do some blends.. I haven’t done any in almost a year, so I’m very out of practice. But here’s what I came up with:

Just a couple of days ago, I decided to buy hosting from dreamhost, because my host for http://lovelyglitters.com was not being very reliable. They kept going down, and I couldn’t do anything with my files. So I’m now hosting that site, as well as my new one: http://codemeplz.com with my new hosting package. I bought the unlimited domain hosting thing, so if you need a reliable host (100% uptime, and tons of space) then drop me a line and maybe we can work something out. I’m not picky at all!

Well, I’m officially 22 years old now! My birthday was yesterday I had lots of fun, did some JavaScript, went out for lobster with the family, and ended up being about $400 dollars richer! Pretty exciting, I know. haha. And, the weather was gorgeous yesterday, so it made my day that much better. lol My aunt bought me a brand new battery for my bigger laptop, so now I can actually use it without having to be plugged into a wall. Quite an exciting point for me, since I’ve been stuck with using the cord for almost 4 years. :-X
Tomorrow I think I’ll be getting photoshop, so I will probably be playing around with that the next few days and updating my other sites. ( http://lovelyglitters.com ) mostly.

Now, back to real life.. Lots of homework to do, most of it just reading boring chapters in my computer networking book. A bit of math, and if I wanted to be a smarty pants, I might get ahead on my JavaScript homework.(Btw, so far that class has been a bit difficult here and there, but for the most part it’s pretty fun.)

The countdown is on.. 05 days until I turn 22! I’m pretty excited, other than the fact that 22 seems so old! Everyone at work (who is older than me, which is all but one person) think I’m crazy for saying 22 is old, because really it’s not.—But it feels old to me! I remember thinking when my cousin turned 22 that he was all “grown up” and wasn’t just one of us kids anymore, and yeah.. I’m not into the whole barbie dolls and playing with toys anymore so I guess along those lines I was right. I kind of wish that I could just stop aging now, I like 21.. Who needs to be older? It’s all downhill from 21. lol. There aren’t anymore “fun” ages to look forward to.. /Sigh. I guess I’ll just have to ignore it. I am looking forward to birthday presents though! I’ve been thinking about buying myself a birthday present, but I’m not quite sure what I want yet. My phone is slightly broken (the “OK” button on the front doesn’t want to work anymore) so I was contemplating getting new cooler phone. lol. Although, I think I might miss the one I have. I’ve gotten used to where everything is, and I’m finally comfortable/speedy at texting using the qwerty keyboard it has. My mom said she’d go put in half the money for it, so I wouldn’t have to buy my own birthday present, lol. I hate taking money from my parents though. They’ve spoiled me enough over the years, and now I feel guilty having them buy me things. :-X

In other news…I am trying to make my sites a little more SEO friendly, unfortunately for the LG glitter site, my host is spazzing out, or something because I’m getting a lot of random error messages, and firefox telling me that the site has an “internal server error,” but I’ve got a friend who’s offered to host me for free so I may take him up on the offer and switch over. So, until I decide where I’m going, it looks as though my seo battle is going to have to wait. Which is a little frustrating, since I kind of need to get it done. My ads are so close to reaching $100 dollars, but it’s hard to get there when I only have 20 UV a day, and nobody clicks on the ads. lol. /sigh.

I think I’m going to go try to fix some site things, and make more goodies. TTYL
